Report: Everton confident of Brendan Galloway fitness for Aston Villa game

The defender is struggling with an injury bout should be fit for this weekend's game.

Everton are hopeful that Brendan Galloway will be fit to face Aston Villa after the international break, reports the Liverpool Echo.

The defender has had to pull out of the England Under-21 squad this week, after picking up an injury that has ruled him out for their two games.

He had picked up a thigh strain in warm up for the Blues 1-1 draw with West Ham before the international break, but played through the pain barrier in the game.

He then reported for the international break, but was then swiftly ruled out of England's games with Bosnia and Herzegovina and Switzerland.

Since then, he has returned to Finch Farm to work on his rehabilitation, and they are confident that he will make the game against struggling Villa, reports the Liverpool Echo.

Manager Roberto Martinez will hopeful that he is available as well, with him currently short on numbers in the position.

Leighton Baines is still working his way back from a long-term injury picked up on the eve of the season, while Bryan Oviedo is once again struggling to maintain his fitness.

Losing Galloway would then be a big blow to the side, with him having impressed in the role this year, and then being short of cover in the position.
