Rangers striker Kenny Miller agreed a one-year extension at Ibrox.

Rangers announced today on their official website that Kenny Miller agreed a one-year contract extension to stay at Ibrox.

It is Miller’s third spell as a Rangers player, and although he has not been as central to Mark Warburton’s first-team as he would like, the ageing striker has started taking on a coaching role as well.

He has scored five goals in 13 games for the senior team, and has been working with the Under-20 squad in a coaching role, although this contract suggests that Warburton still has a playing future in mind for Miller.

The 35-year-old has scored 81 goals in 201 games for the Gers over his spells at Ibrox, and will be looking to fire the Scottish giants back to the Premiership this season.

If Warburton’s men do reach the top flight, Miller’s decision to return to Rangers in the summer of 2014 will be rewarded, and the veteran forward will be walking out as a Premiership striker once again.

Following the news, Rangers fans took to twitter to react to Miller’s contract extension, with many believing it was a well deserved deal.
