Sunderland's Duncan Watmore helped England's Under-21 side beat the Netherlands 3-1 yesterday evening.
Jordan Pickford has praised his Sunderland teammate Duncan Watmore on social networking site Twitter after the winger rescued the England Under-21 side yesterday.
Watmore came off the bench to turn England’s match against Switzerland around and claim the Man of the Match award in the fixture.
The attacker won his nation a penalty, before scoring himself and then laying a chance on for Chuba Akpom in the last minute, which rounded off the triumph.
It was a wonderful performance from the Sunderland youngster, which further enhanced the excitement about his future at the Stadium of Light.
Watmore has started to break through into Sunderland’s team recently, and Pickford was clearly delighted to see his teammate impress for the England Under-21 side yesterday.
