West Ham United supporters have been left fuming after Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Ryan Mason was called up to the England squad this afternoon.
Mason has replaced the injured Fabian Delph for the Three Lions, and he could play against France on Tuesday night.
The 24-year-old is the third Tottenham midfielder to make it into Roy Hodgson’s squad, with Dele Alli and Eric Dier also involved.
West Ham supporters have reacted particularly badly to Mason’s call-up, though, as they feel that Mark Noble has done more to deserve an inclusion.
Mason has missed much of the Premier League season with injury so far, while Noble has played a key part for West Ham.
Tottenham and West Ham are currently locked on the same number of points in the Premier League table, and there are question marks over why Noble didn’t get a chance to show he can perform at international level.
Here is the best reaction from West Ham on social media site Twitter to Mason’s inclusion in the England squad.
How Ryan mason has been called up infront of the likes of noble, zaha, Redmond is shocking. Big clubs get favoured once again. #England— Loldeantimber (@loldeantimber) November 16, 2015
