Chelsea could be lining up a January move for Cesena midfielder Stefano Sensi, according to reports in Italy.
Chelsea are reportedly weighing up a move for another highly-rated youngster in the shape of Italian midfielder Stefano Sensi.
Currently with Cesena in Serie B, Sensi is contracted to the second-tier club until 2018.
But that has not put Chelsea off as yet, with sources claiming the club sent scouts to watch the midfielder in action against Bari.
Any Blues bid is likely to face competition though with the likes of Inter Milan, Juventus and Napoli all thought to be keen admirers.
Sensi is in the midst of an impressive season with Cesena, having already scored two goals in 12 Serie B matches this term.
Dubbed the ‘new Verratti’ in some quarters due to the similarities between his playing style and that of Paris Saint-Germain star and Italy international Marco Verratti, the midfielder would most likely be available in January.
With Cesena currently fourth in Serie B and far from guarantees for promotion back to the top flight, the club could be willing to cash-in on Sensi while his stock is at a noticeably high level.
Whether that spells good news for Chelsea, however, remains to be seen.
