Hull City’s Andrew Robertson impressed with Celtic youngster Kieran Tierney

Hull City defender Andrew Robertson speaks highly of Celtic teenager Kieran Tierney.

Hull City defender Andrew Robertson has told The Daily Record that he has been impressed with Celtic defender Kieran Tierney.

Tierney, who is only 18 years of age, has played well in the games he has featured in for Celtic so far this season.

The teenager was arguably the best player for the Bhoys during their 2-1 defeat to Molde at Celtic Park in the Europa League Group A last week.

Robertson, who was let go by Celtic at the Under-15 level, has spoken highly of Tierney.

“I’ve watched Tierney a few times now and he looks an outstanding talent,” the 21-year-old Scotland international left-back told The Daily Record. “I’m sure he’ll go on to bigger and better things.

“He’s doing well for Celtic now because he has been given a chance to play at a young age. I suppose you never know if you’ll get a chance.

"If you hang around you might never get it – but you also might get a break, like Tierney has. He has grabbed it with both hands.”

Celtic are at the top of the Scottish Premiership table at the moment with 35 points from 14 matches.

Ronny Deila’s side are six points clear of second-place Hearts, who are a point ahead of Aberdeen.

The Hoops will take on Kilmarnock at Celtic Park in the Scottish Premiership next weekend. Anything other than a win for Celtic in the match will come as a huge surprise.
