Celtic defender Efe Ambrose has told the club’s official website that he supported Chelsea as a boy.
“Then, in Nigeria, we watched the English Premier League, and Celestine Babayaro from Nigeria and some other African players played for Chelsea at that time, so most people liked Chelsea because of that."
Ambrose has been on the books of Celtic since 2012 and has a contract until June 2017.
The 27-year-old is a versatile defender who can play as a right-back or as a centre-back.
The former Ashdod star has won the league title in Scotland with Celtic three times, and the Scottish Cup and the Scottish League Cup once each.
Ambrose’s performances this season have not been great, and he has made costly mistakes on a number of occasions.
Celtic are at the top of the Scottish Premiership table at the moment with 35 points from 14 matches.
Ronny Deila’s side are six points clear of second-place Hearts, who are a point ahead of Aberdeen.
Meanwhile, Chelsea currently find themselves 16th in the Premier League table with 11 points from 12 matches, just three points above the relegation zone.
