Arsenal youngster Jordi Osei-Tutu explains his ambitions for the season

Arsenal have another exciting young right-back to get excited about.

Young Arsenal right-back Jordi Osei-Tutu has been speaking to the club’s official website about joining the Gunners and his hopes for the rest of the campaign.

The 17-year-old used to be an out-and-out right winger but more recently he switched to right-back and that is currently his preferred position.

That fact that he can also play as a central defender if required means Arsenal fans will want to keep an eye on this versatile youngster who could have a very bright future in the game.

With just one appearance for Arsenal in the UEFA Youth League to date Osei-Tutu has a long way to go before he is knocking on manager Arsene Wenger’s door, but he knows what he needs to do to get noticed further down the line.

“Joining Arsenal and signing a professional contract is my proudest achievement to date, and that has encouraged me to keep improving,” he told

“I’m working hard now on improving my heading, one on ones and passing. I hope to do well enough to feature with the under-21s before the end of the season.”

That will be quite an achievement for the 17-year-old, and if he does that he will know he is at a club that rewards their young talent with first-team chances when they are deemed ready.

When you consider Osei-Tutu has suggested he is a similar player to Dani Alves and Arsenal’s own Hector Bellerin, the Gunners faithful may have another exciting right-back to admire in a few years.
