Video: Leeds United midfielder Lewis Cook pulls off unbelievable assist for England Under-19s

But did the Leeds man really mean his backheel flick?

England Under-19s put in an excellent performance tonight to get the better of Japan in Manchester. They won 5-1 with two goals from Chelsea forward Tammy Abraham and one apiece from Patrick Roberts, Josh Onomah and Dan Crowley of Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal respectively.

But for Leeds United fans the only player they want to know about is Lewis Cook. The teenage midfielder has been in the news this weekend, with ESPN linking him with a move to Manchester United. But he put those stories behind him with a fantastic display in the heart of the England midfield.

He even bagged an excellent (or accidental) assist.

Abraham scored England's third goal of the game and it came from what might have been a delightful flick from the Leeds midfielder.

Of course the cynic will see this video, courtesy of BT Sport, and assume that Cook did not really mean to move the ball into Abraham's path.

But let's give him the benefit of the doubt.

Leeds fans will hope he can continue performing for the club when he returns to the club in the coming days.
