A select round-up of the latest news relating to Tottenham Hotspur

According to a report from the Sun, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United are preparing to battle it out for Sporting Lisbon striker Islam Slimani.

The Algerian international has been linked with West Ham for quite some time now only to remain in Portugal, where he has scored 33 goals in 79 appearances – including eight goals in 16 matches this season – but he is again being linked with a move to England.

Tottenham could do with additional firepower to support Harry Kane but it remains to be seen if Slimani is the answer.

Speaking of striker targets, Spurs have regularly been linked with West Bromwich Albion’s Saido Berahino, but the England under-21 international is now said to be attracting interest from Newcastle United.

According to the Sun, the Magpies are ready to bid for Berahino in January, but the report goes on to claim that Tottenham are still interested.

And finally, the Daily Star Sunday claims Tottenham are weighing up a £7million bid for Dynamo Kiev defender Domagoj Vida when the transfer window reopens.

Able to play anywhere across the back-line, the 26-year-old Croatian international is also a threat from set-pieces, scoring six goals and providing six assists for Kiev to date.
