Tottenham fans react on Twitter to Christian Eriksen’s performance against Sweden

Tottenham Hotspur star Christian Eriksen was in action for Denmark against Sweden in a Euro 2016 playoff tie on Saturday.

Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to social networking site Twitter to have their say on the performance of Christian Eriksen for Denmark on Saturday evening.

Attacking midfielder Eriksen started the Euro 2016 playoff first-leg tie against Sweden at the Friends Arena in Solna and played for the entire 90 minutes.

Hosts Sweden took the lead on the stroke of half time when Emil Forsberg swept the ball home with a crisp finish.

The RB Leipzig winger was brought down inside the Denmark penalty box just five minutes into the second half.

Paris Saint-Germain striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic stepped up to take the spot kick and made no mistake from 12 yards.

Nicolai Jorgensen halved the deficit for Denmark 10 minutes from time when he stabbed the ball home at the far post.

Eriksen, who has been in good form for Premier League outfit Tottenham in recent weeks, played well and created a very good chance for former Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner with a through-ball in the first half.

Over the course of the 90 minutes in Solna, hosts Sweden had just 37% of the possession, took 13 shots of which just four were on target, and earned four corners.

Visitors Denmark had 63% of the possession, took 15 shots of which only two were on target, and earned five corners.

Following the match, Tottenham fans took to Twitter to have their say on the performance of Eriksen for Denmark.
