According to a report in The Mirror, Arsenal are to offer star player Mesut Ozil a new contract.
The German international has been in superb form this season, grabbing ten assists in 11 Premier League matches including at least one assist in his last six consecutive league matches.
Both feats have already seen his name enter the Premier League record books, further justification of exactly why the Gunners shelled out a club record fee to buy him from Real Madrid back in 2013.
After helping the club to two FA Cup triumphs during his time in North London, Ozil is on course to play a huge role in a potential Premier League title victory.
As a reward for his fine form at the Emirates, The Mirror report that the Gunners are ready to offer him a new contract despite the player having another two-and-a-half years to run on his current deal.
Should a deal be made, the former Werder Bremen ace would be joining both Theo Walcott and Santi Cazorla in extending their deals, while plans are afoot to offer Alexis Sanchez a new contract too, according to the Daily Star.
It appears a consolidating tact by Arsenal, tying their key players down to longer deals in order to allow them to grow at the club for an extended period of time.
With the club now challenging for the title, the risk of losing players to the likes of Barcelona, Manchester United and Manchester City as previously seen now appears much slimmer.
Ozil has represented the Gunners 88 times in all competitions since joining the club, scoring 14 goals.
