Celtic midfielder Nir Bitton has told the club's official website that his favourite Bhoys game was against Rangers, despite facing Barcelona too.
Bitton, 24, had a slow start to life with the Bhoys having joined the club from FC Ashdod in 2013, but he is now an integral part of Ronny Deila's team, and even signed a new contract until 2020 earlier this month.
Now, with the international break upon us and Celtic preparing to face Kilmarnock next weekend, the Bhoys official website have attempted to give some insight in to Bitton and his personality off the pitch.
The Israeli international was asked what his favourite game whilst playing for Celtic is, and his response involved two huge clashes for the Bhoys.
Bitton says that whilst facing Barcelona in the Champions League was huge for him having played 69 minutes at the Camp Nou, losing 6-1 means he can't say it's his favourite game.
However, Bitton did pick one game, and it will be popular with Celtic fans. The midfielder stated that beating Old Firm rivals Rangers 2-0 in the Scottish League Cup back in February was a 'special moment' for him having never faced Rangers before.
"I would say against Barca, because it was Barca, but we lost 6-1 so that wasn’t the best result," said Bitton. "So maybe the game against Rangers last season because of all the preparations and build-up beforehand, and this kind of derby game, so it was a special moment for me," he added.
Rangers are pushing for promotion to the Scottish Premiership this season, and the Old Firm rivalry would be renewed once again - something for Bitton and Celtic fans to look forward to, having had such a storied rivalry over the years.
