The Brazilian has been impressed by his new manager at Liverpool.
Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva has been speaking to television channel Globo Esporte about the impact new manager Jurgen Klopp has had at Anfield, with his comments later printed online by FourFourTwo.
The Brazilian international has already made 13 appearances for Liverpool this season and with Jordan Henderson out injured he will be more important than ever as the Reds attempt to climb up the table and potentially earn a top-four finish.
That will be easier said than done given the chasing pack but Klopp has the energy, the talent and the reputation to inspire a successful debut campaign on Merseyside, and Lucas for one has been impressed by his new manager’s ethos.
“I believe that the arrival of Klopp has given me a new energy, a new gas,” Lucas said.
For a while it seemed Lucas would be on his way out of Anfield such was the ongoing speculation, but the rumour mill spouts far more falsehood than truth and Liverpool fans are likely to be grateful they still have the Brazilian on their books.
The Reds are currently 10th in the Premier League with 17 points from a possible 36 and while they have a lot of work to do in the months ahead to significantly improve that position they certainly have the players to excel.
