The Australian will not face Bangladesh on Tuesday.
Celtic attacking midfielder Tom Rogic has certainly had something of a revival so far this season.
The Australian international arrived with plenty of optimism behind him back in 2013 but struggled to live up to expectations.
The youngster has struggled with injury ever since and has only recently discovered his best form.
This season has seen him overcome his fitness woes and put in some excellent performances for The Bhoys. He has played 17 times for Celtic this term, scoring five times from midfield.
Unfortunately he has now picked up an injury problem.
He featured against Kyrgyzstan earlier in the week but ahead of Australia's game against Bangladesh on Tuesday he has been sent home. Instead of boarding a flight to Bangladesh he has instead embarked on his journey back to Scotland.
But Celtic fans should not be too alarmed. According to FourFourTwo he only has 'quad soreness' which does not sound like it will keep him out of action for too long.
Celtic take on Kilmarnock next Saturday and it seems likely that Rogic will be back for the fixture.
