The Ghanaian international is hoping to be fit for the tie with Comoros this week.
Aston Villa have suffered a rotten piece of luck over the international break. They lost perhaps the best of their summer signings to a serious knee injury and today it was confirmed that the player in question, Jordan Amavi, will miss the rest of the 2015-16 season.
Now they will be concerned over the fitness of another summer arrival.
Jordan Ayew was snapped up by Lorient in the summer and has struggled to have the impact on English football that his brother Andre has at Swansea City.
He is currently on international duty with Ghana, who embarrassingly drew 0-0 with 177th ranked Comoros on Friday night.
But he pulled out of their training session today. GhanaWeb is reporting that he sat out the session, along with his brother, with a leg injury.
Luckily it appears as though the injury is not serious and Ayew is hopefully going to be in action this week.
The talented forward will certainly hope so. He is in need of a good performance and facing off against Comoros on home turf could give him the chance to boost his confidence ahead of returning to the Aston Villa camp.
