Tottenham Hotspur star Nabil Bentaleb returns from injury on international duty, draws against Tanzania

The Algeria midfielder helped his side fight back from a 2-0 deficit.

Tottenham have had to contend with their fair share of injury issues recently. One player who has been out of action is Nabil Bentaleb.

The Algerian midfielder has been on the treatment table since featuring against Everton at the end of august.

However he is on the verge of a comeback and has been called up for the Algeria national team for their upcoming World Cup qualifying double header against Tanzania.

It was looking unlikely that he would feature in the first leg of their clash with the Taifa Stars but he was named on the bench.

However the Desert Foxes had to call upon him in the second half as they struggled against the team ranked 135th in the world.

They were 1-0 down when Bentaleb came into the game at half-time and were soon 2-0 down in the away leg.

Bentaleb's arrival for Ishak Belfodil must have done some good though. With the Tottenham man on the pitch they managed to grab two quickfire goals from Sporting Lisbon midfielder Islam Slimani to level the game 2-2, with the second leg in Algeria next week.

Bentaleb came through his appearance unscathed and will now be hoping to thrive in the home tie and return to England fresh and fighting fit.
