Leeds United head coach Steve Evans says that he would turn down the Chelsea managerial job.

Leeds United head coach Steve Evans said on the Fantasy Football Club show on Sky Sports 1 on Friday evening that he would not take the Chelsea managerial job if it became available and was offered to him.

Jose Mourinho is in charge of Chelsea at the moment, but the former Real Madrid coach has come under pressure due to the Blues’ struggles in the Premier League this season.

Former Rotherham United manager Evans was appointed the Leeds head coach on a rolling contract last month.

The Scotsman seems to be so happy in his current role that he is ready to turn down the Chelsea job offer.

"No, I wouldn’t leave Leeds United," said Evans on the Fantasy Football Club show on Sky Sports 1 on Friday evening when asked if he would take the Chelsea job.

"100% I wouldn't. I gave my word to Mr Cellino when I came in that I will give everything I have got."

Evans has made a positive impact at Leeds and has led the team to back-to-back wins in the Championship.

The Whites defeated Cardiff City at Elland Road at the start of the month and then won 3-0 against Huddersfield Town away from home.

Leeds are 15th in the Championship table at the moment with 19 points from 16 matches, six points above the relegation zone.
