Report: Liverpool, Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea tracking Lewis Cook

The Leeds playmaker has been linked with a host of Premier League clubs.

Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea are all tracking Leeds United midfielder Lewis Cook, according to ESPN.

And it is United who are looking to 'steal a march' on their rivals in the chase for the 18-year-old playmaker.

ESPN report that Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal is keen to build his side around young talents - such as Anthony Martial.

Leeds' Cook, meanwhile, also fits that bill, with the Champions League-winning manager reportedly keen on the midfielder for the future.

The transfer talk may not necessarily be surprising for Leeds fans. When it comes to Cook, the 18-year-old is linked with a move away from Elland Road every few months.

This time last year, similar reports were doing the rounds and it's little surprise considering the United midfielder's ability relative to his age.

For England's youth sides, Cook constantly produces. And, for Leeds, he has by and large been tremendous considering how inexperienced he is. Any reports that link the teenager with a move away, though, are keen to stress that United are very eager indeed to keep hold of him.
