Newcastle United teammates Paul Dummett and Daryl Janmaat faced each other in the friendly international between Wales and the Netherlands on Friday evening.
While defender Dummett featured for hosts, right-back Janmaat lined up for the Dutch at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff.
Dummett came on as a substitute in the 65th minute, while Janmaat played for the entire 90 minutes.
It proved to be an entertaining encounter, as the Netherlands won 3-2 thanks to a double from former Chelsea winger Arjen Robben and one from Bas Dost. Joe Ledley and Emyr Huws were on target for Chris Coleman’s home team.
Over the course of the 90 minutes in Cardiff, hosts Wales had 41% of the possession, took nine shots of which four were on target, and earned five corners.
The Netherlands 59% of the possession, took 11 shots of which six were on target, and earned three corners.
