Report: Everton bid for Barcelona youngster Munir rejected

FC Barcelona

The Blues are keen on a deal but Barca boss Luis Enrique is refusing to sanction either a loan or permanent switch.

Everton’s attempts to sign highly-rated Barcelona youngster Munir have been rebuffed by the La Liga champions, reports Mundo Deportivo.

The Blues are reportedly looking to add to their squad in January, and the young forward is among those they are interested in securing, either permanently or on loan.

They have been probing all angles to see if a deal can be agreed for the forward, including trying to determine whether he would be interested in a move.

However, it seems that the Catalans are not keen on a sale, with them having responded to the Blues with a resounding 'no' on all fronts.

As far as Mundo Deportivo are concerned, manager Luis Enrique is counting on Munir, and fellow youngster Sandro, to supplement his squad.

However, the Premier League side’s interest is not without substance, as they believe the rumours suggesting Barca want to sign another forward could open up a move for Munir.

Indeed, it seems manager Roberto Martinez is especially keen on seeing the youngster link up with former La Masia graduate Gerard Deulofeu at Goodison Park.

The winger is currently flourishing after signing permanently in the summer, and the Catalan seems keen to secure another of Barcelona’s graduates for his side.

At present, though, a deal seems unlikely, with his release clause reportedly standing at £24.7million.
