Phil Neville's response when asked whether Middlesbrough will be promoted this season

Middlesbrough are currently in fourth place in the Championship table.

Phil Neville has stated his belief that Middlesbrough will be promoted on Twitter.

Neville hosted an impromptu question and answer session on the social media platform, and he was quizzed on Boro’s promotion chances, where he publicly predicted that Aitor Karanka’s side would be a Premier League club next season.

Middlesbrough went into the season as one of the favourites for promotion, and they have made a good start to the 2015/16 campaign.

Karanka’s side narrowly missed out of promotion last term, when they lost in the play-off final, but they have made no secret of their desire to go up this time around.

Boro signed the likes of Stewart Downing and David Nugent in the summer transfer window, as they bolstered their squad with some high profile players.

At the moment, the North East outfit are sat in fourth place in the Championship table, and within touching distance of the top two.

Karanka’s men are only four points behind second placed Brighton & Hove Albion, and they return to action after the international break with a match against Queens Park Rangers.
