Fans react on Twitter to Adam Lallana's performance for England

The Liverpool midfielder was poor against Spain in Alicante last night.

Last night saw England condemned to a 2-0 defeat by Spain in what was a rather uninspiring performance in Alicante.

Spain passed Roy Hodgson's men off the park in Spain and England looked way off the pace considering their recent form.

Several players struggled throughout the game, but one man whose poor performance really stood out was Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana.

The former Southampton man has played well in spurts for Liverpool since heading to Anfield but yesterday he really struggled against the quality opposition Spain had to offer.

He constantly gave the ball away, offered little in possession and when asked to defend could not handle Barcelona full-back Jordi Alba - who had him scrambling throughout the game.

Lallana is certainly unlikely to make it into the England starting XI on performances like this, in fact, he will be lucky to make the squad for Euro 2016.

His poor performance did not go unnoticed. Fans were quick to call him out on what was a very abject performance from the midfielder:
