Former Queens Park Rangers and Crystal Palace manager Ian Holloway has predicted on Skysports.com that Sheffield United will win against Southend United at home this afternoon.
The Blades will host Southend at Bramall Lane in a few hours’ time, and Holloway has backed the home team for a 2-0 victory.
“They've had a bit of a wobble lately, losing their last two league games, but Nigel Adkins knows what he's doing and I think they'll get promoted this season,” the former Leicester City boss wrote on Skysports.com.
“A win against Southend could get them back into the play-off positions and I think they'll get it.”
United are eighth in the League One table at the moment with 24 points from 16 matches.
Nigel Adkins’s side are three points behind Bury, who are currently sixth in the standings and occupy the final playoff spot.
The Blades are very much in the running for top-six finish in the Championship and will be confident of picking up all three points this afternoon.
Meanwhile, Southend find themselves 12th in the League One table at the moment with 23 points from 16 matches, just four points behind sixth-place Bury.
Phil Brown’s side will head into the encounter on the back of a 1-0 victory over Bristol Rovers at Roots Hall in the Football League Trophy.
