England were soundly beaten by Spain this evening, losing 2-0 in Alicante. A wonderful goal from Mario Gaspar gave Spain the lead before Arsenal midfielder tidied things up with a cool finish.
It was a dire performance from England who found themselves outplayed throughout the game and struggled to put any cohesive move together.
In fact the best move probably came from the Tottenham Hotspur players Eric Dier and Harry Kane.
The Tottenham man, on debut, played a fantastic chipped pass into the path of his club mate Kane. The striker however flopped his strike and should have done better with the opportunity.
However it was perhaps the best move of the game and it was made in Tottenham.
Which pleased one former Tottenham striker.
Gary Lineker posted this tweet on his official account during the game, celebrating the link up between the Tottenham players:

Unfortunately this was just one bright moment in what was a rather dull game. But Tottenham fans will take solace in the fact it involved their players.
