Gary Gardner reacts on Twitter to Aston Villa teammate Jordan Amavi’s injury

Aston Villa defender Jordan Amavi suffered an injury while playing for the France Under-21s on Thursday.

Aston Villa midfielder Gary Gardner has taken to social networking site Twitter to give his reaction to the injury picked up by Jordan Amavi on Thursday evening.

Amavi suffered an injury during the France Under-21 side’s game against their Northern Ireland counterparts.

The 21-year-old defender landed awkwardly, hurt his right knee and had to be taken off rightaway.

Gardner, who is himself injured at the moment, hopes that the left-back’s problem is not too bad.

Amavi joined Villa from French club Nice in the summer transfer window.

The 21-year-old has featured in 10 Premier League appearances so far this season, creating seven chances in the process.

The Frenchman has a pass accuracy of 79% and a shot accuracy of 50%, and has won 20 headers, 25 dribbles and 30 tackles.

Villa are at the foot of the Premier League table at the moment with five points from 12 matches, five points behind 17th-place Newcastle United.
