Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Danny Batth has told Sky Sports that he is confident that his side will finish in the top six of the Championship this season.
“I'd go top six,” the 25-year-old centre-back told Sky Sports when asked where Wolves will finish in the league this season. “No reason why not and you've got to be ambitious, haven’t you?”
Wolves are 14th in the Championship table at the moment with 19 points from 16 matches.
Kenny Jackett’s side are as many as nine points behind Birmingham City, who are currently sixth in the standings and occupy the final playoff spot.
While it will be very hard for Wolves to finish in the top six this campaign, they are certainly still in the running for a playoff spot.
The Championship is a very competitive league, and teams above Wolves are going to drop points as the season progresses.
What is important for Jackett’s team is to put together a run of positive results after the international break and go as close as possible to the top six.
Wolves will take on Ipswich Town away from home at Portman Road in the Championship after the two-week international break.
