Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Barry Bannan hopes to return to action soon.

Sheffield Wednesday star Barry Bannan has taken to social networking site Twitter to give an update on his injury situation.

The Scotland international central midfielder, who is suffering from a knee problem at the moment, has suggested that he will return to action in two weeks’ time, with Wednesday fans responding to his message.

Bannan joined Championship side Wednesday from Premier League outfit Palace in the summer transfer window.

The 25-year-old has created 17 chances in 10 Championship appearances for the Owls so far this season.

The former Aston Villa man has a pass accuracy of 80% and a shot accuracy of 13%, and has won two headers, eight dribbles and 11 tackles.

Wednesday are ninth in the Championship table at the moment with 24 points from 16 matches.

Carlos Carvalhal’s side are just four points behind sixth-place Birmingham City and are very much in the running for a top-six finish in the league this campaign.
