England under-21s traveled to Bosnia-Herzegovina this week to take on their under-21 side in a European Championship qualifier in Sarajevo.
The two teams faced off earlier today and the end result was a fair 0-0.
One factor of that result that will not come as a surprise to Preston North End or Sunderland fans is the zero. Once again, England under-21 stopper Jordan Pickford kept a clean sheet.
The Sunderland owned stopper has been on loan at Preston this season in the Championship. He has not conceded for the club in six games and with this clean sheet the record for club and country now extends to eight.
He has now failed to concede a goal since Lewis McGugan's late strike for Sheffield Wednesday on the 3rd October.
His performances have been a major factor in Preston's good form of late. They are currently six games unbeaten.
Meanwhile his parent club Sunderland are the most porous team in the top-flight. Sunderland have conceded 26 goals in the league this season - one more than Bournemouth who are a close second.
It makes you wonder if Sunderland have the wrong goalkeeper out on loan.
Jordan Pickford's got eight clean sheets for club and country on the bounce... Get him back and make him our number one or risk losing him.— ɢ. (@GHSAFC91) November 12, 2015
I wonder if Pickford would make under 21 starting XI if he played for our first team...— Samantha (@Samiix23) November 12, 2015
