Brendan Galloway has impressed during his senior appearances for Everton this season.
Gallloway has been handed regular first-team opportunities at Goodison Park this season, and he has looked at ease in the Toffees’ first-team.
Baines has praised the way the prospect has handled the step-up, saying that the 19-year-old’s level-headed approach has helped him to slot seamlessly into Premier League life.
“He's done brilliant," Baines enthused.
"You would never think this was his first full season for us at this level. He has done unbelievably well and he reminds me a lot of Stonesy in his manner. He's very calm, very composed, got good quality and he will keep progressing.”
Galloway has been given his first-team chance at Everton due to Baines’ injury, which has kept him out of the opening months of the 2015/16 campaign.
Baines is widely recognised as the Toffees’ first-choice left-back, but Galloway has given Roberto Martinez a selection headache.
Baines is starting to edge closer to fitness, but there is no guarantee that he will come straight back into Everton’s starting line-up.
Galloway has looked ready to become a regular at Goodison Park, and Baines, therefore, faces a fight to win his spot back.
