West Ham United co-owner David Gold tweets sarcastic message about Everton's James McCarthy

West Ham United and Everton drew 1-1 at the weekend, with Dimitri Payet picking up an injury in the fixture.

West Ham United co-owner David Gold has expressed his anger at Everton midfielder James McCarthy on social media site Twitter.

McCarthy fouled Dimitri Payet during West Ham’s match against Everton at the weekend, and he caused the French midfielder to pick up a serious injury.

Payet is set to miss three months’ worth of action, and Gold tweeted a rather sarcastic message about the challenge on Twitter yesterday evening.

Payet’s injury is a huge blow for West Ham, as he has been so important to their chances so far this season.

The former Marseille man was brought to the club during the summer transfer window, and he has immediately made an impact at Upton Park.

Payet’s skill in possession has added further quality to West Ham’s attack, and he has helped the side make a brilliant start to their Premier League season.

Slaven Bilic’s men are currently in sixth place in the standings, but keeping up their good form without their talisman will be a huge test of the quality in their squad.
