According to the Daily Mirror, Sunderland midfielder Liam Bridcutt is ‘desperate’ to leave the Stadium of Light on loan.
Bridcutt is the subject of interest from Leeds United, Reading and Cardiff City, according to the Mirror, and he is keen to make the switch to the Championship.
The central midfielder has been starved of first-team chances so far this campaign, and he is reportedly eager to leave the Black Cats.
Leeds were the first team to lodge their interest in Bridcutt, and it seemed that they were very close to striking a deal.
However, that transfer appears to have hit a stumbling, and the Whites are now facing competition from some of their Championship rivals for his signature.
Bridcutt has proven his quality in the Football League before, and he was one of Brighton & Hove Albion’s key players earlier in his career.
And, as a result, Cardiff and Reading both feel that he could be a good addition – as they look to strengthen their squads, as they chase a play-off space.
