Report: Leicester City youngster Ben Chilwell wanted by Manchester United

Leicester City gave Ben Chilwell his senior debut in the Capital One Cup earlier this season.

The Daily Mail claim that Manchester United are tracking Leicester City youngster Ben Chilwell, after his impressive form at development level this season.

Chilwell has looked a class apart for Leicester’s under-21 side, and United have been alerted to his talents.

The Red Devils are looking for options to cover at left-back, while Luke Shaw recovers from his leg break, and Chilwell is one of the players on their radar.

The 18-year-old has earned international recognition for his form this term, as he has forced his way into England’s under-19s set-up.

He has also been rewarded by Leicester, who gave him his senior debut in the Capital One Cup against Hull City in October.

The Foxes have high hopes for Chilwell’s future, but a bid from United may persuade them to part ways with the academy graduate.

United are also said to be looking at Ricardo Rodriguez at Wolfsburg in their left-back hunt, but Chilwell would be a much cheaper alternative.
