Lamela has earned plenty of plaudits for the transformation he has made this season.
The Argentine winger has matured from a peripheral figure at White Hart Lane into a first-team star, but Eriksen feels that Spurs fans still haven’t seen the best from the former Roma man.
“I think he can be even better,” Eriksen enthused. “He’s doing really well, but I think with his talent he can do even better.
“I think he’s enjoying what he’s doing at the moment. There were some difficult first years for him, but you can hear in the dressing room and off the pitch that he’s a happy guy.”
Lamela joined Spurs back in 2013, and his first two years at the club were clearly very difficult for him – as he struggled with the transition to English football.
Mauricio Pochettino has kept faith with the wide-man though, and his patience has been rewarded this term.
Lamela has been one of the Lilywhites’ most threatening attacking players, and his work-rate has also helped Spurs to defend from the front.
The 23-year-old's good form has helped Spurs to go unbeaten through their last 11 Premier League matches, and it seems that his transfer could turn out to be a very successful one, even after an inauspicious start.
