Mitrovic joined Newcastle from Anderlecht during the summer transfer window, and he has made an immediate impression at St. James’ Park.
The Serbian striker has quickly become a fans’ favourite at Newcastle, and it seems that the target-man is loving his time on Tyneside.
“McClaren is a good and positive guy, he knows how to work with young players,” he says.
“He knows how to work with pressure, he is a really good coach with experience and I think it was the best choice to come here and work with him.
“For me the team is the most important thing and I work hard for them and for the team. If I work hard for the team, goals will come I’m sure.”
Mitrovic’s passion and energy has been clear for everyone at Newcastle to see, and it has meant that he has quickly endeared himself to the club’s supporters.
Mitrovic already plays a key role in Newcastle’s first-team, with his ability to hold up play and bring teammates into play proving to be highly valuable.
If there has been one complaint about Mitrovic at Newcastle so far, it has been his lack of goals.
Although his partnership with Ayoze Perez has looked promising, Mitrovic has netted just three times in 11 appearances and he will need to increase this ratio if he is start firing the team up the table.
