Leeds United will work on their defence over the next two weeks, says Sol Bamba.
Leeds United centre-back Sol Bamba has told the club’s official website that his side will work on their defence during the international break.
“It’s good we’re going into an international break because the gaffer only came in a few weeks ago,” said the Ivory Coast international.
“We’re going to have more time to work on what we need to do defensively and everything else to get ready for the big game at home against Rotherham.”
Leeds have conceded as many as 19 goals in 16 Championship games so far this season.
It is not exactly bad, especially when one considers that sixth-place Birmingham City have shipped 17.
The problem is that the West Yorkshire outfit have struggled to score goals. Leeds have found the net just 16 times in the Championship this campaign.
Even Rotherham United, who are at the foot of the standings, have scored more (17).
The combination of failing to score enough goals and conceding at the wrong time has led to the Whites’ struggles, but it seems that the players will work on the problem during the two-week international break.
Leeds are 15th in the Championship table at the moment with 19 points from 16 matches, six points above the relegation zone.
