Seamus Coleman claims people often forget about Everton forward Romelu Lukaku's age

Everton striker Romelu Lukaku is still only 22 years old, meaning he has plenty of time to develop.

Everton defender Seamus Coleman has told that he believes people are often guilty of forgetting Romelu Lukaku’s age.

Lukaku is an experienced Premier League player now, having been a top-level performer for a number of seasons, but he is still only 22 years old.

And Coleman believes it is often overlooked that Lukaku still has time on his side and a lot of progressing to do.

"He’s a great finisher and if we can play to his strengths he’s a massive threat for us. We’re very happy that he’s scoring goals and long may that continue," Coleman said.

"He’s a young lad, people forget, but he keeps scoring close to 20 goals a season so it’s great for us."

That many people forget Lukaku’s age is a compliment to his ability, as he plays with a style which belies his tender years.

The Belgian international has started to look like the complete package this year, and he is developing into one of the most dangerous front-men in England.

Lukaku has nine goals in his opening 15 appearances for Everton this term, and he has led the line in expert fashion for Roberto Martinez’s men.

The former Chelsea man will be hoping that he can maintain his fine form up for the entire 2015/16 campaign, as he is well on track to record the best goalscoring figures of his career to date.
