Harry Kane states his side should have beaten Liverpool and Arsenal

Defence - Spurs v Chelsea

The Tottenham forward is in confident mood after a strong start to the new campaign for his club.

Tottenham striker Harry Kane has stated that his side can challenge for the top four this year, telling Sky Sports that the North London outfit should have beaten both Liverpool and Arsenal.

Since Mauricio Pochettino has taken over in the White Hart Lane dugout, there has been a building project to see the Lilywhites fighting for a consistent place in the top four.

One of the elements that suggests that Spurs are ready to mix it with English football’s elite is their improved performances and results against other teams in the top six.

Pochettino’s side have beaten Manchester City this season and will feel that they were unlucky not to take full points against both Liverpool and Arsenal as well.

Kane has been talking up his sides chances and stated that recent results show that Tottenham can go toe-to-toe with anyone in the Premier League.

"It shows that we can be up there with the big teams," Sky Sports quote Kane as saying.

"We probably deserved to win against Liverpool, we beat Manchester City and maybe deserved to win at Arsenal as well.

"We're not just drawing where we're hanging on, we're drawing where we're playing very well and there are chances we could be winning these games.

"We've just got to keep doing what we're doing - there's a lot of games still left to play. We're now into the international break and when we come back it's two more London derbies.”

After struggling for goals in the early weeks of the new season, Kane has found his shooting boots once more and netted Spurs’ goal against Arsenal on Sunday.

Tottenham’s young side has looked more confident and defiant this season than plenty of the Spurs teams that have come before it.
