Steve Evans is in charge of Leeds at the moment, but he is on a rolling contract, which means that his future at Elland Road is far from certain.
Moyes started his managerial career at Preston North End, before moving to Everton in 2002.
The 52-year-old achieved a considerable amount of success at the Merseyside club, as he made them an established Premier League team.
The former Bristol City defender was given the United managerial job following the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson in the summer of 2013, but he failed miserably at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils failed to finish in the top four of the Premier League in the 2013-14 season, and Moyes was dismissed from his role.
