West Ham United suffered a major injury blow this week.
The French play-maker has been in sensational form since arriving at Upton Park from Marseille during the last transfer window but now it seems the Hammers will have to do without him until 2016 following the blow he suffered against Everton at the weekend.
Prior to that Payet had scored five goals and provided four assists, and his absence is a huge blow for a side that has excelled under Bilic and currently finds itself sixth in the Premier League, just five points off top spot.
There is no doubt Payet’s absence will impact the team but it is up to Bilic to ensure his side still plays to its full potential and it is the responsibility of those who are available to step up.
West Ham announced that Payet had a consultation with a specialist earlier on Monday and that the prognosis was that he would miss the next three months of the campaign.
That means he is unlikely to be back before February and West Ham also announced that Enner Valencia’s ankle injury will be assessed early next week after the Ecuador international suffered an injury against the Toffees.
