Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has written in The Sun that the only way Tottenham Hotspur players can keep their best players is by qualifying for the Champions League.
The former France international striker made the comments in the build-up to Sunday evening’s North London derby between Arsenal and Tottenham at the Emirates Stadium.
“The only way they can keep their best players is by qualifying for the Champions League on a regular basis, so now they have to prove they’re equal to the challenge,” Henry wrote in The Sun.
Tottenham held Arsenal to a 1-1 draw in the Premier League encounter and were perhaps unlucky not to have picked up all three points.
Against the Gunners, Spurs showed that they have what it takes to genuinely compete for a top-four finish in the Premier League this season.
Over the years, Tottenham have had to sell some of their best players, such as Dimitar Berbatov, Gareth Bale and Luka Modric.
Becoming a regular top-four club in the Premier League is certainly going to help Spurs stop their rivals from snapping up their best players.
