Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Jose Semedo names Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo as his inspiration.

Sheffield Wednesday defensive midfielder Jose Semedo has named former Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo as his inspiration on social networking site Twitter.

Semedo, who has been on the books of Championship side Wednesday since 2011, is good friends with the Real Madrid forward.

The 30-year-old Portuguese has spoken highly of his compatriot on Twitter and has highlighted his commitment to the Owls.

In five Championship appearances so far this season, Semedo has created one chance, has a pass accuracy of 76%, has won eight headers and won one tackle.

Wednesday are ninth in the Championship table at the moment with 24 points from 16 matches.

The Owls are just four points behind Birmingham City, who are currently sixth in the standings.

Carlos Carvalhal’s side are playing well at the moment and are getting positive results.

A top-six finish in the Championship is very much a possibility, but for that to happen, Wednesday need to maintain their current form for the remainder of the 2015-16 campaign.
