Micah Richards

Aston Villa and Manchester City played out a goalless draw at Villa Park in the Premier League on Sunday.

Paul McGrath has taken to social networking site Twitter to give his reaction to Aston Villa’s performance against Manchester City at home on Sunday afternoon.

Villa and City played out a goalless draw at Villa Park in the Premier League.

Over the course the 90 minutes at Villa Park, the Villans had 41% of the possession, took three shots of which none was on target, and earned three corners.

Manuel Pellegrini’s visiting side had 59% of the possession, took 13 shots of which just three were on target, and earned eight corners.

Former Villa defender McGrath was following the match, and he was happy with the final result.

The former Republic of Ireland international was impressed with the performances of Villa defenders Micah Richards and Ciaran Clark.

Richards was outstanding against his former club City and gave a real captain’s performance in defence.

The 27-year-old has a pass accuracy of 78%, and made four interceptions and nine clearances.

Clark was also brilliant, making one interception, 10 clearances and four blocks during the 90 minutes.
