Former Tottenham Hotspur player and manager Ossie Ardiles commented on the North London derby.
Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder and manager Ossie Ardiles took to Twitter after the North London derby to give his thoughts on the result.
The Argentine was full of praise for Mauricio Pochettino's side, and reserved particular praise for youngster Dele Alli.
A late Kieran Gibbs equaliser cancelled out Harry Kane's opener, but it was Spurs who will be happier with their overall performance.
Superb performance from our boys. Very proud of Mauricio and all the team. Desire, commitment, quality and a very young team as well— osvaldo ardiles (@osvaldooardiles) November 8, 2015
Augurs very well for the future. COYS!!! Man of the match: All the team but Delli Ali extra special. COYS— osvaldo ardiles (@osvaldooardiles) November 8, 2015
Tottenham will feel though that this was an opportunity missed to beat their rivals, having held the lead for a solid portion of the game.
Alli, praised by Ardiles, was also picked by SkySports pundit Gary Neville as his man-of-the-match during the broadcast, and is showing why he is such a revered talent, and already a full England international.
Ardiles' Tottenham teams were known for their full flowing attacking football, which was easy on the eye, but ultimately flawed defensively. His countryman Pochettino is building a side better suited to getting results, and they remain unbeaten in the Premier League since the opening day of the season.
