Lee Clark raves about Leeds United's Alex Mowatt

Alex Mowatt has scored twice in his last two appearances for Leeds United.

Lee Clark told Sky Sports after Leeds United’s match against Huddersfield Town that Alex Mowatt has the ability go right to the top.

Mowatt has scored twice in as many matches for the Whites, and both goals were absolute belters.

The attacking midfielder curled in a shot in Leeds’ win against Cardiff City last Tuesday, before he backed that up by lashing a long-range effort into the back of the net against Huddersfield Town.

And Clark said: “This fella is a very, very talented young footballer. That goal wins any game. Both the goals he has scored this week are of the highest quality, and he can go all the way to the top, although Leeds will be wanting to keep him.”

Mowatt actually was in disappointing form throughout the early part of the campaign, but Steve Evans’ appointment seems to have improved his performances.

The 20-year-old’s confidence appears visibly higher, and he has been back to his very best in the Whites’ last two matches.

Mowatt scored nine times for Leeds last term, and was one of their most consistent players, so his quality has already been proven.

Mowatt will be hoping to continue his fine run of form, after the international break, when Leeds take on Rotherham United looking to make it three wins in a row.
