West Ham have had a number of key players perform exceptionally well this season, and David Sullivan has told the official Hammers website that he has high praise for Manuel Lanzini in particular, after his quick adaptation to English football.
Sullivan said: “Manuel has been outstanding for the Club since we signed him during the summer and Slaven was determined to bring him to the Boleyn Ground. We are delighted that we were able to finalise a deal and he has taken no time adjusting to Premier League football. He has shown he can compete against the best teams in the country.”
Lanzini was signed in the summer on a loan deal from Al Jazira Club, with the Hammers having the option of making the deal permanent later this season if they want to.
Considering how well Lanzini has played this season, it would not be a surprise to see the East London side take up this option, and bring the former River Plate starlet in on a permanent deal.
There were doubts before his arrival at West Ham about his physicality and ability to adapt to the nature of the Premier League, but the 22-year-old has played down such questions with ease, scoring three goals and registering one assist in 10 league game.
He may not be the biggest, but Lanzini has an exceptional on the ball ability, and rarely loses possession due to his quick feet and even quicker mind.
Sullivan is most impressed with how quickly the star has adapted to the Premier League, and how he has established himself as one of the best attacking players in the league despite the doubts that preceded his move to West Ham.
Lanzini has been a real success story this season, and his permanent signing with the Hammers should be confirmed before too long.
