Leigh Griffiths has scored 18 goals in 26 appearances for Celtic this season.
The striker has been in deadly form since the start of the campaign, and he has netted a stunning 18 goals in 26 appearances in all competitions.
Griffiths has firmly established his place as Celtic’s main striker, and he scored twice in the Bhoys’ latest 4-1 victory over Ross County.
“Leigh has become one the guys who loves to train and I can’t be any more impressed with him this season,” Deila said.
“He has showed great desire both on and off the pitch, he is doing all the right things and he is getting the rewards for it. He has taken a lot of things on board and you can see the results – he is getting better and stronger all the time. He is pleased with himself and we are pleased with him.
“But I still think he can get even better. We can see and he can see the way he is moving forward and becoming a better footballer.”
Griffiths has developed considerably under the stewardship of Deila, and he has managed to rescue his career at Parkhead.
It took the Scotland international a fair amount of time to settle in with the Bhoys, but he is fully accustomed to his surroundings now.
Griffiths’ form has been a major reason behind Celtic’s start to the SPFL campaign, where they have already established a sizeable lead at the top of the table.
Griffiths will be hoping that the current international break does not disrupt his momentum, with the Bhoys’ next match coming against Kilmarnock in two weeks’ time.
