Nottingham Forest returned to winning ways in the Championship on Friday evening when they got the better of Derby County at home.
Forest registered a 1-0 win at the City Ground in the East Midlands derby, Nelson Oliveira’s goal in the fifth minute proving to be the difference between the two sides.
Over the course of the 90 minutes at the City Ground, the Reds had just 34% of the possession, took 15 shots of which four were on target, and earned two corners.
Visitors Derby had 66% of the possession, took 14 shots of which just two were on target, and earned five corners.
Dougie Freedman’s side are 18th in the league table at the moment with 17 points from 16 matches, just four points above the relegation zone.
However, the current mood in the Forest camp is that of optimism and hope, as the photos (above and below show).
The Reds are unlikely to challenge for a top-six finish in the Championship this season, but the win against Derby has given them some hope that they are not going to be involved in a relegation scrap.
