Slaven Bilic praises West Ham midfielder Manuel Lanzini's innate ability

The West Ham United player continues to impress this season.

West Ham United manager Slaven Bilic has been speaking to the club’s official website about his on-loan midfielder Manuel Lanzini.

The young Argentine has been brilliant since arriving at Upton Park from United Arab Emirates club Al Jazira, and with the option to sign him at the end of the campaign it looks a no-brainer for the Hammers at this point.

Lanzini scored against Everton on Saturday in what proved to be a 1-1 draw and the 22-year-old now has five goals and two assists in 14 West Ham appearances.

While some doubted whether he would succeed in the Premier League given his diminutive stature, Lanzini has proved them wrong in emphatic style and his manager was quick to praise him after his side picked up another point.

“He has got it,” Bilic told whufc.com. “Some of our players prefer to pass the ball when there are in and around the box and we want them to shoot more.

“For his goal the ball went in exactly where he wanted it to go. He has that skill and the power and he is a good player.”

He certainly is, and at this rate there is no telling how high West Ham can finish this season and how good they can ultimately become under Bilic.

With some wonderful summer additions and a very canny man in the dugout things are looking bright for the Hammers right now, and they will look even brighter if they tie Lanzini to a permanent deal in due course.
