Ossie Ardiles comments on Tottenham's upcoming match with Arsenal

The former Tottenham Hotspur star has had his say ahead of their clash with Arsenal.

Former Tottenham Hotspur player and manager Ossie Ardiles has taken to Twitter as Spurs prepare to face fierce rivals Arsenal this weekend.

The Argentine knows all too well how big these matches are and this one is particularly important with just five points currently separating the two teams in the Premier League.

Arsenal are second in the table, behind leaders Manchester City only on goal-difference, while Tottenham are sixth with 20 points from a possible 33, and Ardiles seems quietly confident that Mauricio Pochettino’s men can move within just two points of the Gunners by the close of play.

“Great game this afternoon,” Ardiles wrote. “Not only the three points; this game is much, much more important than this. Very confident. COYS.”

If Ardiles’s confident is proved well-founded this could be a very significant weekend in Tottenham’s season, with a top-four place already very much on the cards after their good start to the campaign.

Tottenham have impressed under Pochettino and many of their summer signings have settled well, most notably Toby Alderweireld and Heung-Min Son, and both could play a significant role this afternoon.
